Emergency Umbrella Records began in 2001 as a collaborative idea to create a community organization that included 20+ Columbia, MO musicians and bands. These artists helped each other with trade shows, booking, and other related resources; all banding together under the moniker of the umbrella. By early 2003, EU fully morphed into an active label, with a smaller group of serious bands who shared the same goals and vision. The label's roster includes The Foundry Field Recordings, Warhammer 48K, Ellie Come Home, Witch's Hat, The Kingdom Flying Club, Paradise Vending, and Bald Eagle.

Eyeball Records was started in 1996 when Alex Saavedra invested his savings, a paltry $500, into the manufacturing of a 7-inch featuring the then unknown NYC-based punk act, The Casualties.
